Velummayilum Foundation
A Beacon of Hope and a Legacy of Love

At the heart of Kingsley Healthcare lies a profound connection to the beautiful island nation of Sri Lanka, the birthplace of our co-founder Daya Thayan.  Stemming from a deep appreciation of his roots and a desire to give back, Daya, along with his wife Sumi and their children Cameron and Ewan, established the Velummayilum Foundation in 2006, embodying the spirit of philanthropy inherent in the Kingsley family.

The Velummayilum Foundation was created in honour of Daya's parents, who instilled in him a deep love for his community and a dedication to service.  His father, a distinguished lawyer, businessman, and a former Mayor of Point Pedro, Sri Lanka, and his mother, an accomplished musician and local school music teacher, were pivotal figures who shaped the principles that drive the foundation today.

A vibrant beacon of hope in Sri Lanka, the Velummayilum Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to uplift the communities that nurtured our founders.  Whether we are furthering educational ambitions by supporting local schools and providing scholarships for higher education, or delivering essential medical support and elderly care to local residents, our efforts are multi-faceted and far-reaching.  We are dedicated to supporting children's orphanages, promoting organic farming and ensuring a diverse range of needs are met.

In the face of adversity, such as during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Velummayilum Foundation has consistently stood firm and has often been the sole source of support for many.

It is during these times that our mission shines the brightest, serving as a refuge of hope and help.

The foundation is more than just a charitable initiative, it's a heartfelt connection to a homeland.

Each year, our founders, their children, and some of our Kingsley colleagues make an annual journey to Sri Lanka to take part in the foundation's activities. These visits strengthen the bonds of love and mutual respect between us and the communities we serve.

The Velummayilum Foundation, like Kingsley Healthcare, embodies a powerful narrative of resilience, compassion, and relentless service.

Our commitment to shaping a better world, one community at a time, extends from our professional endeavours to our philanthropic pursuits, making us proud of the difference we are able to make.  Together, we are Kingsley, and together, we create hope
