We are recruiting for a Kitchen Support Worker to work at Branksome Heights Residential Home in Bournemouth, Dorset.

The Kitchen Support Worker position is offering 30 hours per week (8am-6pm shifts), at a pay rate up to £8.50 per hour (subject to experience)


Within this role you will, under the direction of the Chef, assist in kitchen duties connected with the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and beverages whilst ensuring the highest quality.  You will carry out general kitchen and dining room duties, such as setting up cleaning tables, washing up, serving meals etc. As well as ensuring that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room.

Criteria / Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Understanding of and clear commitment to health and safety practices
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene & cleaning procedures.
  • An understanding of the needs of the resident group
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
  • Commitment to providing a quality service
  • Empathy to residents individual needs
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
