We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager at our Downham Grange Nursing Home in Downham Market, Norfolk. Downham Grange is a purpose built nursing home registered for 62-beds. The home specialises in the private market.

 

In order to be considered for this exciting role as General Manager you will have a proven record in commercial business aspect and home management.  You will be required to register with CQC. You will ideally hold a registered managers award along with a passion for achieving high levels of care.  You will work in conjunction with the Clinical Manager to develop a coherent and effective team who provide the quality of care our residents deserve. Together you will manage and be responsible for all aspects of the service and CQC, ensuring all service users receive the highest standard of care.

 

You will be fully supported in your role by a Clinical Manager, Operations Manager and Service Quality Manager, as well as a full head office team.

 

The home is currently rated as ‘requires improvement’ as we have had some recent difficulties but we are working through a plan. It was previously rated ‘good’ and for the right candidate this can be turned around quickly.

Criteria / Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this position must have:

  • The ability to engage with the service users to understand their needs in order to provide an excellent service of person centred care.
  • Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
  • Promote ownership of care programs by fully involving service users and their families in developing, agreeing and evaluating care programs within the home.
  • Confidence to communicate and maintain excellent working relationships with all levels of colleagues, internal as well as external professionals, families and visitors.
  • Create strong links with the local community.
  • A proven track record of marketing and business skills within the private care sector, running a commercially successful, good or outstanding rated care home.
  • Eligibility to work within the U.K.
