 We are recruiting for a Domestic/Kitchen Support Worker to work at Spring Lodge Residential Home in Woolverstone, Ipswich.

 

Within the role of Domestic Support Worker you will assist in providing a clean, healthy and hygienic environment for residents and staff that complies with Health & Safety and COSHH standards. You will be responsible for ensuring the home looks, feels and smells nice for our residents as well as visitors to the home. You will ensure that all bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the building.

Within the role of Kitchen Support Worker you will, under the direction of the Chef, assist in kitchen duties connected with the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and beverages whilst ensuring the highest quality.  You will carry out general kitchen and dining room duties, such as setting up cleaning tables, washing up, serving meals etc. As well as ensuring that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and dining room.

 

The position is part time, offering 16 hours per week (Weekend shifts 10am-6pm), at a pay rate from £8.21 per hour (subject to experience)

Criteria / Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Understanding of and clear commitment to health and safety practices
  • Previous domestic and kitchen experience within a commercial or business setting
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene & cleaning procedures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
